The iPad Mini will soon go into production, it will be launched in September according to the Wall Street Journal

The rumors about the iPad Mini have been brought back to the attention of users yesterday when a publication claimed that the device would have a Retina Display and would be launched in October, they continued during the night when Bloomberg reiterated the October release but he did not support the implementation of the Retina Display and they now culminate in an article by Wall Street Journal. The famous American publication claims that the new Apple tablet will go into production at the company's partners, and in September we should have it available in stores.

Apple Inc.'s AAPL +1.16% component suppliers in Asia are preparing for mass production in September of a tablet computer with a smaller screen than the iPad, people familiar with the situation said, suggesting a launch for the device is near. Two of the people said that the tablet's screen will likely be smaller than eight inches. Officials at the component suppliers, who declined to be named, said this week that Apple has told them to prepare for mass production of the smaller tablet. The Wall Street Journal reported in February that Apple was testing such a device but hadn't yet decided whether to proceed with productionn.

Those from the Wall Street Journal say that the screen will be less than 8 inches, but they don't provide other important details, so we don't know if the tablet will have a Retina Display or not, and of course we don't know what other important functions it might have. What we do know is that the tablet will run iOS 6, if it is released in September, and we know for sure that it will compete with the Google Nexus 7. If the rumors are true or not we will find out in the fall, but it should be remembered that the Wall Street Journal has correctly announced in January the start of the iPad 3 production process which was announced and launched in March.
