Apple obtains a ban on the sale of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 throughout the European Union

Do you think that the legal disputes between Samsung and Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), they're finished? If so, then I announce that today Apple has obtained the right to ban the sale of the tablet Galaxy Tab 7.7 throughout the European Union. The decision comes from a Dusseldorf court that rejected Apple's request to ban the sale of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1N, but offered the Cupertino company the right to prohibit, throughout the EU, the sale of the Galaxy Tab 7.7. Apple had won the right to ban the sale of this tablet in Germany, but today's decision allows it to remove it from sale in the entire European Union, and we are talking here about extremely important markets for Samsung.

Samsung welcomes the court's ruling which confirms our position that the GALAXY Tab 10.1N does not infringe Apple's intellectual property and does not infringe laws against unfair competition. Should Apple continue to make legal claims based on such a generic design patent, design innovation and progress in the industry could be restricted.

Samsung is disappointed with the court's ruling. We will continue to take all available measures, including legal action, to protect our intellectual property rights and defend against Apple's claims to ensure our products remain available to consumers throughout the European Union.

Today's decision does not surprise many people, considering that the tablet was already out of sale in Germany, but it is once again confirmed that Samsung has taken over without right elements of the iPad that are protected by Apple's patents. Many Samsung fans quickly "forgot" that Apple blocked the sale of some tablets in Germany, Australia and the USA, and today's decision brings back to the discussion the problems that the Asian manufacturer has with respecting the work of others.
