OS X Mountain Lion comes in the form of a 4 GB installation package which, as you already notice from Table above, it installs in 13 or 57 minutes, depending on the Mac you own. Macs with built-in SSDs are the fastest and I can tell you that my Mac Mini solved the problem as quickly as a MacBook Air, but of course I installed an SSD in it. If you have a Mac with the classic Apple HDDs with 5400 RPM, then you will have to wait quite a while for the installation, but you can always buy an SSD.
Home Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), Here's how long it takes to install OS X Mountain Lion on various Macs
@zaone are the above times with the system download or only how long the installation takes?
Just the installation.
I installed it in 50 minutes on a macbook unibody late 2008 with HDD.
I don't have a mac, but 1 hour of installation on a normal hdd seems enormous to me
on iMac 27, 16 gb ram and SSD OWC = 16-17 minutes
The installation takes 14 minutes on a hackintosh, HDD 5400 RPM. Too bad about Macs that take much longer to install with similar HDDs.
On my Macbook 13' wide 2011 with ssd it took around 15 min
confirm … macbook air mid 2011 … 17 minutes
I'm dying of optics because it doesn't work for me, I have a mac pro 1,1 from 2007...
I have an iMac and I've been waiting for an hour for it to install and nothing happened
