Pod2G was accused of "selling" an exploit that could be developed into a jailbreak or unlock solution

If last week I was talking about p0sixninja as a hacker selling iOS exploits, this week Pod2g comes to our attention thanks to Musclenerd. The famous Dev Team hacker claims that Pod2G entered a contest with an exploit of iOS, the contest offering prizes of up to $100.000 to those who participate. The contest involves the registration of exploits for mobile browsers, the SMS system, the NFC system and the baseband of mobile phones. The problem is that as soon as the exploit is registered there, it becomes the property of the organizers, so the hacker loses the opportunity to use it.

  • Mobile Web Browser $20,000 USD
  • NFC $40,000 USD
  • SMS $40,000 USD
  • Cellular Baseband $100,000 USD

MuscleNerd says that pod2g entered to win a $100.000 prize, that prize corresponding to an exploit for the baseband of iDevices, basically an exploit that could help develop a solution to unlock. Pod2g says that the exploit requires the use of a hardware component to work, MuscleNerd says that this contest will use several exploits that could be turned into workarounds jailbreak or unlock, so basically the arrogance of some will reveal exploits to the Apple company.

Pod2G said that it has exploits that will allow it to jailbreak for iOS 6, it remains to be seen if the one used now was intended for the international community of jailbreak users.
