Apple employees in two stores in Paris claim that they will go on strike on the day of the iPhone 5 launch

If you plan to purchase one iPhone 5 from France, I have bad news for you because Apple employees in two stores in the capital are threatening to strike on the very day the terminals are launched. The employees have been negotiating for several months with the management of the stores from which they demanded higher salaries, a fountain with drinking water, vouchers with the help of which they can buy food, better working conditions, vouchers with the help of which they can go on vacation and payment of a 13th salary.

French Apple Store staff are threatening to strike on the day the iPhone 5 launches. After months of negotiations between store workers and management, staff at the Paris store are threatening to strike on Friday. The reason for the protest: Apple Store staff want pay rises, as well as a water fountain and lunch vouchers. The discussions hinge on Apple's salary grid and the disparity in pay for the same job. Added to that, the high cost of living in Paris means that Parisian workers are asking for higher pay than Apple Store workers elsewhere. There are 13 Apple Stores in the country; both are located in Paris.

Amongst their demands for better working conditions are holiday vouchers and a "13th month" I this is the payment of a month's basic salary paid at the end of the year, like a bonus. It's common in France, but not mandated by law.

Although for Apple the launch of the iPhone 5 is very important, for now the management has not yielded to the demands of the employees and this could cost it the postponement of the launch of the iPhone 5 in its own stores. This is not the first time that Apple employees threaten to start a strike, but this is the first time that they threaten that they will not honor such an important event.
