The untold stories of Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs was a man about whom many things have been said over time, but those from Forbes they amaze us, with a list of things that few people had heard about the former CEO of Apple. In 4 pages Forbes details a lot of events in which Jobs was involved, but I will only talk about some of them and you can find the rest on the Forbes website. I'll start by telling you that in 1986, when Jobs was CEO of Next, Bill Gates visited Next's headquarters, and Steve Jobs left him waiting for more than an hour in the reception of the company's headquarters, all because of the rivalry between them. I continue with a story in which Steve Jobs had his employees hide their Porsches in the parking lot of the Next headquarters because an investor was coming to visit the company, and those cars would have given him the impression that the employees were making a lot of money and the investment was probably not it would have made sense. The move would have been auspicious, 20 million dollars being invested in the company.

Going further, I will tell you that at the opening of an Apple store, whose design was partially influenced by Jobs, the former CEO initially refused to let reporters into the location because the white floor collects the dirt of the shoes worn by people. Steve Jobs initially wanted to delay the launch to change the floor, had a not-so-friendly exchange of words with one of the store's designers, and then had his Apple design team visit the store and change the floor, which finally it happened.

At the end, I leave a short story about Steve Jobs and touch keyboards. When Jobs presented the first iPhone to Marc Andreessen, one of the producers of the first browsers for the Internet, the latter asked him how he imagined that people would receive virtual keyboards when everyone is used to the physical ones of BlackBerrys. Jobs' answer was: they will get used to them. The truth is that Jobs didn't really care what people wanted, he imposed his wishes on them and in the end we got used to them because we had no choice.
