In the USA there are the highest prices for 4G LTE connections

4G LTE networks are relatively new in many areas of the globe, in the US only this year operators began to expand coverage in several areas of the continent, and this seems to have generated quite high costs for those interested in purchasing an internet subscription /mobile telephony that worked through these networks. In the USA, one GB of data traffic made through a 4G LTE network coastline no less than $7.50, while in Europe the average price is $2.5, Sweden being the country where a GB of traffic can be purchased for only $0.63.

According to the study, Verizon Wireless, which is a joint venture of Verizon and Vodafone, charges $7.50 for each gigabyte of data downloaded over its LTE network. That is three times the European average of $2.50 and more than 10 times what consumers pay in Sweden, where a gigabyte costs as little as 63 cents.

Globally, there are 88 operators that offer mobile phone and internet services through 4G LTE networks, 38 of them being present only in Europe. On this continent there are countries where even 3 4G LTE networks are active, but there are also countries where there are no national 4G LTE networks, Romania being one of these countries. iDevices and Android terminals have forced operators to develop 4G LTE infrastructure faster in many markets around the world, subscription prices are not that high, but it remains to be seen how things will be in Romania.
