A few weeks ago I told you that a rabbi recommends his followers to give up iPhone terminals, and today I tell you that in Russia the radical Christians replace the Apple logos with crosses. Priests and their followers decided to replace the Apple logo on the company's products with crosses, considering that the bitten apple is an insult to the principles they believe in. You all know the story of Adam and Eve and the apple, we don't need to repeat it, and for these radical Russian Christians the Apple logo is part of that story and they can't bear to see it on the company's products, products they don't throw away. but I use them.
Radical orthodox Christians from Russia remove the Apple logotype from the company's products and put a cross sign instead of them. The orthodox find the half-bitten apple logotype anti-Christian and insulting to their belief, something that may potentially cause serious problems for Apple's products in the country. Interfax news-agency reports about "several" cases, where the radical orthodox, including priests, swapped the Apple logo for an image of the cross, the symbol of Jesus Christ. According to the ultra-radical orthodox activists, the bitten apple symbolizes the original sin of Adam and Eve and is generally anti-Christian.
You will probably think that only a few radical people cannot greatly affect the image of Apple products in Russia, and unfortunately you would be wrong, because something else is hidden behind this story. It seems that in the Russian Parliament there is a bill designed to defend the beliefs of this kind of people and companies like Apple could be accused of blasphemy or insulting the religious beliefs of certain people. The draft law is made by the party that supports Vladimir Putin, so it will become law sooner or later and then it will be interesting to see how the Russians will see the apple and what problems Apple will have.
