Poor sales of the iPad would have motivated Apple to launch the iPad 4

During the presentation conference a iPad Mini, Tim Cook announced that Apple has sold 100 million iPad tablets until now and although the figure is impressive, it hides the fact that Apple sold few units in the last fiscal quarter. In Q3 2012, which ended on June 30, Apple had sold 84.12 million iPad tablets in total, and now the company says that it has barely passed 100 million units sold, so in the last fiscal quarter it would have sold only almost 16 million units, far below what the world expected.

After Apple's announcement, those from Fortune were contacted by American analysts who made estimates regarding the number of tablets sold by Apple, some of them corrected their estimates by seriously lowering the number of tablets sold. Practically, the iPad tablet would have partially fallen out of favor with users in Q4 2012 and this would have motivated Apple to launch iPad 4, a tablet that will definitely motivate users to spend some money during the winter holidays, especially since the device is definitely worth the money if we are talking about an update from iPad 1/2 or a first purchase.
