Tim Cook visits China, meets with high-ranking officials

Tim Cook, the CEO Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, visited these days China, where he met with the Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Miao Wei, but also with Gary Locke, the American ambassador to China. No one knows what was the reason for Tim Cook's visit, but he was present in China in his official capacity as CEO of the Apple company and probably held discussions related to his partner Foxconn, one of the largest companies operating in China. In a private discussion with the American ambassador, Tim Cook would have stated that Apple's stores in China are among the most productive of its entire retail chain, something demonstrated by the thousands of people who are present at the opening of a new store there.

Steve Jobs did not visit China very often, but Tim Cook is on his second trip as CEO of Apple, China being an extremely important strategic point for those from Cupertino. The factories that assemble the iPhones are located in China and over 10% of the total receipts are generated here in each fiscal quarter, so Apple had to pay special attention to this country and Tim Cook is doing this.
