Phill Schiller was misquoted making claims about the iPhone Mini

Two days ago a Chinese newspaper published an article quoting Phil Schiller saying that Apple will not produce one iPhone Mini, the company having a different strategy for its products. Apple believed that Schiller was incorrectly quoted by the Chinese newspaper, so he asked the publication to edit the article, which was done by the journalists who stated that in the updated version they represented much more clearly the statements of the Apple CMO.

A reporter at the Shanghai Evening News who identified himself as Huang Yinlong, whose byline appeared on the stories, said the paper had made some changes, as Schiller's remarks may not have been presented as clearly as possible. The original story had quoted Schiller as saying that developing a cheaper smartphone to try and replace feature phones was not a direction in which the company wanted to head. That comment was amended in the new version of the story, which now quotes Schiller as saying that while some manufacturers are moving towards such cheaper smartphones, "Apple has always focused on providing the best products for its consumers, we've never blindly chased the market share.”

Recognizing its mistake, the Chinese newspaper returned things to the initial state of confusion, that is, no one knows whether Apple will produce a terminal or not iPhone Mini. The correction of the article does not in any way indicate the fact that Apple will produce this device, so it should not be seen as such, so anything is possible and if the product reaches the market we will find out for sure.
