Today Vodafone Romania released an important press release, announcing that the Internet browsing speed using their 4G LTE network has increased to 100 Mbps. Vodafone is the only operator in Romania that offers speeds of up to 100 Mbps in its own internet network, but it is only accessible with special subscriptions launched now. The interesting part is that Vodafone Romania's 4G network is available in 10 cities in the country, and in the press release below you have them all listed.
Vodafone Romania increases the 4G speed to 100 Mbps and launches the new Turbo 4G subscriptions
- 4G services are available to new and existing Vodafone subscribers with two new packages: Unlimited Internet Turbo 75 and Unlimited Internet Turbo 100
- The new packages bring data traffic included and 4G devices at advantageous prices

Bucharest, January 17, 2013 – Vodafone Romania increases the speed of new services 4G at 100 Mbps and launches new subscriptions for its existing and new customers.
"From now on, users in Romania benefit from the highest possible speed through 4G/LTE technology, up to 100 Mbps. The superior experience offered by 4G mobile Internet is now within reach of our customers, who can choose between two specially designed packages, which include generous data traffic and 4G terminals at advantageous prices", said Inaki Berroeta, CEO of Vodafone Romania.
Today, Vodafone is launching a new 4G offer, for new and existing subscribers, consisting of two internet subscriptions on a laptop or tablet: Internet Unlimited Turbo 75 si Internet Unlimited Turbo 100.
- The Turbo 75 Unlimited Internet package includes 12GB traffic, with a download speed of up to 75 Mbps and an upload speed of up to 37,5 Mbps, for 19 euros / month;
- The Turbo 100 Unlimited Internet package includes 20GB of data traffic, with a download speed of up to 100 Mbps and an upload speed of up to 50 Mbps, for 25 euros / month.
Users who opt for 4G services will receive a special "4G Ready" SIM and will be able to purchase one of the compatible terminals from the Vodafone Romania portfolio. Those who choose the packages Turbo 100 and sign a 2-year contract, I can purchase at special prices, the following 4G terminals:
– The USB modem Vodafone K5005 LTE for PC/Laptop connectivity, starting from 0 Euros;
- Vodafone Hotspot R210 LTE, to which up to five devices can be connected simultaneously - smartphone, laptop, tablet or PC, starting from 49 Euros;
– The tablet Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 KL, from 389 Euros, with a 10,1" WUXGA screen, Full HD, a resolution of 1920 x 1200p, which works with the Android 4.0 (Icecream Sandwich) operating system.
4G services can still be tested by all customers in 17 Vodafone stores* on compatible terminals in the portfolio. The new subscriptions can be activated in the national network of Vodafone stores, and 4G services can be used in the 10 cities covered by the new network.
Vodafone was the first operator to launch 4G services in Romania, on November 20, 2012. Also, Romania was the third European country where Vodafone launched 4G services.
