iPhone 5, iPad Mini and iPad 4 could work on 4G LTE networks in Romania starting next week

In the conference for the presentation of the financial results for Q1 2013, Tim Cook announced that starting next week, 36 countries will enter the list of locations where iPhones and iPad tablets are compatible with the networks LTE 4G. iPhone 5, iPad Mini si iPad 4 are the only iDevices that have modems capable of connecting to these networks outside the US, and through a Carrier Bundle Update Apple can include compatibility with the networks of operators from the 36 countries.

I told you last year that iDevices in Romania need this update to work on the operators' networks, although for now everything is unofficial for our country, there is a possibility that from next week you can use iDevices with these networks. Tim Cook mentioned only a few of the countries where this update is to be launched, Romania was not among them, but their mention was not made based on a strict rule, so anything is possible. Unfortunately, a 4G card is useless for iPhone 5 in Romania, because you do not have the possibility to use voice services, but on tablets iPad you will be able to surf the internet without problems.

In my tests, Orange's 4G LTE network is capable of reaching speeds of up to 28 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload in Bucharest, so the only notable difference compared to the HSDPA 3G+ network is on the upload side.
