Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), promoted the tablet iPad as a perfect product for students or universities, the company could be at the center of a corruption scandal in Russia based on an educational program, but try to obtain and some money from the Turks. Today, several important managers of Apple, including the vice president of the division dedicated to sales to educational institutions, discussed with the president of Turkey, Abdullah Gül, and other representatives of the government, about a possible sale of iPad tablets as part of an educational program worth 4.5 billion of dollars.
The Turkish government is trying to purchase 15 million tablets for local educational institutions, and Apple is trying to sell as many units as possible to the Turks, but for now the negotiations between the parties have not reached any conclusion. The Turkish president visited Apple headquarters in May and discussed a possible re-implementation of a special keyboard in Apple's iOS, so far nothing has materialized, but Apple will probably manage to get a few hundred million dollars from the educational program of the Turks.
