Alcatel ONE TOUCH FIRE – the first smartphone running Firefox OS (Video)

Firefox OS is one of the newest and most interesting operating systems for mobile terminals, and within Mobile World Congress 2013 those from Alcatel announced the release of a smartphone that will run it. Alcatel ONE TOUCH FIRE is that smartphone, and in the video clip above you have a short presentation of it. The device has a 3.5 inch screen, 1 GHz processor, 256 MB RAM, 512 MB internal memory, a 3.2 megapixel camera without LED flash, and that's about it.

If you look at the clip, you will notice that the device is working hard, the hardware does not help it at all, but Firefox OS was never announced as an operating system for high-end smartphones. Those from Firefox target the low-end market, and the Alcatel device will probably do a great job being offered at a price lower than €100 together with a mobile phone subscription. To be honest, I would have liked Firefox OS to reach high-end smartphones, but maybe in a few years we will see this too.
