BlackBerry Z10 – first impressions

Last week I told you that BlackBerry Z10, the newest smartphone of the Canadian manufacturer BlackBerry, arrived at iDevice.ro through the program Orange Smartphone Tester. I told you then that I had some problems with the update system, but fortunately these were the only problems I encountered in this week of using the terminal and I expected a mature operating system to work without problems, especially since it has such a good reputation behind it.

Cu BlackBerry OS 10 Canadians hope to recover some of the customers lost in recent years and I think they can do this, the terminal being competitive in many ways, offering the same set of functions as most high-end smartphones, and the design and format he helps him without question. The design is the first thing you notice on any smartphone, and the Z10 terminal impresses, especially with the case made of a rubber material that, fortunately, does not scratch like the glass of the iPhone terminals. The front panel is thought to be somewhat different from what exists on the market, but the large edges and the difference in material/color between the screen and the case slightly spoil the premium look of the device.

From design I move to the OS which is mainly thought for the business environment, but is adapted to the requirements of today's markets. Using such a large touchscreen may seem inappropriate for those who are used to physical keyboards, however BlackBerry manages to keep part of the feeling of using a physical keyboard, the writing experience being different from that of iOS or AndroidOS. The operating system works without errors, it has implemented some interesting effects for unlocking, switching from one page to another, and the idea of swiping to see the applications open in the background seems ideal to me. I like the way the UI is thought, I like the effects implemented by BlackBerry, I like that everything works without errors, and I would like to see some things implemented including in iOS.

Although the operating system works without problems, unfortunately the lack of many applications is a big, big problem for BlackBerry. You probably already know that many applications for social messaging, games, utility applications, etc., are not available in blackberry world, this is quite an important problem that the Canadians are trying to solve, but until then an average user would have problems with this platform. Considering that it was designed especially for the business environment, I don't think that a person focused on productivity, sending emails/editing documents/making phone calls/making audio conferences, etc., will have problems with the Z10, but you will love it more because it represents a step forward compared to the old terminals of the Canadians.

I like to see that there are operating systems that work without lag in use, I like to see that some things can be done differently without "borrowing" something from Apple and those from BlackBerry deserve praise for this, they must be supported because they are needed on the market, and Z10 can help them start a new period of growth. I'll come back with more details in a separate review, but so far I'm pleasantly impressed by BlackBerry's creation.
