Apple is implementing new security measures for Apple IDs

Today the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), implemented a new system for verifying the identity of users who are trying to recover a Apple ID whose password was forgotten or stolen by a hacker, the system being called Two-step verification for Apple ID. The new system involves the use of a second iDevice to receive a security code via SMS or the Find My iPhone application, that security code being necessary in case of trying to recover an Apple ID. Apple's system applies for now in the USA, Australia, Great Britain, New Zealand and Ireland, and in the case of active Apple IDs you must access your account through Apple website and set a trusted iDevice through the Security section.

Today's change comes after last year a hacker managed to take control of a journalist's Apple ID by simply searching for information about him on the web. With the help of that information, the hacker convinced an Apple employee that he is the true owner of the account and then deleted all the data from it. Apple is now trying to remove employees from the process of recovering an account, it offers users the option to protect themselves through this Two-step verification, but you have to be careful.
