Apple patents a system for sharing files by simply bringing devices close together

Directly from the Apple laboratories today we have a new patent for a system interesting that could allow us to transfer files between Apple products by simply touching them. Using a system similar to the one available in the Bump application, Apple's technology would allow users to transfer files from a iPhone on a Mac, for example, by simply bringing the devices closer together. Of course, Apple is not reinventing the wheel here, but until now the company has not wanted to natively offer such functionality in its iDevices, even if the applications in the App Store offer it.

Apple thinks it could use NFC or Bluetooth technologies to perform this file transfer, but I think implementing Wi-Fi Direct would make everyone happy. File transfer over Wi-Fi is done at speeds of a few MB per second, while Bluetooth is limited to tens, or sometimes hundreds of KB per second, so you can imagine that a large image will not transfer right away . Despite these small inconveniences, it would be extremely good if Apple would consider offering us such functionality, although now this seems unlikely.
