Last night Orange Romania has officially announced that iPhone 5 model A1429 terminals can connect to its own 4G internet network based on a special subscription. After the announcement, many of you did a Carrier Bundle Update sent by Apple and expected to be able to use the Internet 4G of the operator. Unfortunately, many of you did not carefully read the press release of Orange published by me last night, because it says very clearly that only customers who activate, starting yesterday, one of the options available here(or create loyalty) will be able to use the network LTE 4G. Those who have other options, or even those options but activated before April 8, will not be able to access the network LTE 4G a Orange Romania.
We clarified the connection problem, now let's clarify the compatibility problem. Only terminals can connect to Orange Romania's 4G network iPhone 5 which have the model A1429 written on the case. Now you will ask why. Well, because Apple made two models of it iPhone 5, a model A1428 which is compatible NO MORE with the 4G LTE networks in the USA and Canada and an A1429 model that is compatible with the 4G networks of Verizon/Sprint in the USA, but also with those in Europe, Asia and other areas around the world. If you have the A1428 model, you will not be able to access the 4G LTE network in any form, with any software modification because it does not exist.
Finally we get to the problem the impossibility of deactivating 3G connectivity after installing the Carrier Bundle that activates the LTE toggle in the Settings application. Unfortunately, Apple designed these Carrier Bundles in such a way that users can no longer give up 3G when they don't want to use it, and here comes a very big problem. First of all, the terminals lose a lot of autonomy, because the constant use of 3G, especially in areas with weak signal, significantly reduces the autonomy of the battery, and in the second place there is internet traffic, which will be consumed extremely quickly if you do not block it. Practically without jailbreak you will not be able to disable 3G, and if you have jailbreak things are not simple because the modification of the Carrier Bundle is done with only one CommCenter patched and only if you know the codes for excluding the LTE button and including the one for 3G. Alternatively you can use an old version of the (BatteryDoctorPro), the latest from Cydia not having 3G toggle-url.
In Romania 4G LTE networks they are new, in the case of Orange the network covering only a part of Bucharest and Valea Prahova, in the case Cosmote it being non-existent if you do not live in the Baneasa area of Bucharest, and in this case Vodafoneand you have 4G in Bucharest, Iasi, Brasov, Arad, Timisoara, Craiova, Galati, Constanta and Bacau.
