The idea of having flexible iPhones with side screens allows those from Apple to expand the space on which information is displayed, that is, to display on the side screens messages or other alerts that would require the screen to be turned on, but panels can be implemented in the same space touch controls that allow controlling the volume, the Music application or other iOS applications. This is just one of the registration requests sent by Apple to the USPTO since the beginning of the year and up to now, a sign that there is quite a lot of interest in this kind of technology.
Of course, releasing a flexible iPhone wouldn't be a very great idea, but replacing the current aluminum side strips with flexible touchscreens would pique the interest of many users. The functionality of such components is indisputable, but their usefulness can be questioned due to the fragility of the terminals.
