In the last weeks the system iCloud had quite big problems in providing users with the functionality they expected. Initially iMessage and FaceTime were affected, but this week Game Center and the system iCloud Mail were non-functional for long periods of time. In the page dedicated to information about iCloud functionality problems, Apple lists the fact that Game Center was totally unavailable for several hours over several days, and iCloud Mail was inaccessible for 27 hours for 0.008% of users.
No one knows what exactly causes these problems, but either we are talking about some changes that Apple makes to improve the infrastructure, or we are talking about changing some servers or some components, or we are talking about operational problems that have been solved. Regardless of the cause, it is important to remember that you should expect similar problems in the future.
