SquareTrade is one of the largest American companies specializing in mobile phone repair, and today it published a video clip and a graph showing us how much fragile this Samsung Galaxy S4. Those at SquareTrade compared the device to Samsung Galaxy S III si iPhone 5, and the tests showed that the new terminal is more fragile than its predecessor, but also than iPhone 5. If you look at the image below, you will notice that a wide range of factors have been taken into account, and among them are: size, weight, impact resistance, ease with which it can be held in the hand, etc.

Testing each of these factors, the people at SquareTrade give each terminal some grades, a high grade meaning a high degree of risk, and a low grade you know what it means. If you look at the image, you will notice that iPhone 5 it has an average degree of risk, in terms of damages, and Samsung Galaxy S4 has a slightly higher degree of risk. The fact that the terminal is hard to hold in the hand, the ease with which it slips out of the hand and the materials not very resistant to shocks determined the awarding of this grade, but it remains to be seen for whom it will matter.

iPhones have been presented by many as extremely fragile smartphones, but in reality things are a little different.

  1. And what is the connection with idevices?
I see that it has become the norm to have at least one article a day attacking Samsung.... They have good ones, they have bad ones, but that's why you read other sites..
Especially since this is an idiotic test, anyone who got their hands on the S4 said that it is better built and feels better in the hand than the S3..

  2. @Ion: You're kidding, aren't you? Are you pretending not to see that it's the iPhone 5 there, or are you just talking to occupy your time, or to justify your payment?

  3. @Lucyan: do you also have a foil on that screen? I also dropped the 5th on the cement, it went into the corner and onto the screen. The screen didn't have anything, but the marmalade aluminum (much softer than the 4-4s) got 2 pretty deep scratches. I also lost the 4th one because it flew with the screen directly into the corner of the bedside table (quite violently), a hole was made in the foil but the screen had nothing.

  4. These tests do not seem 100% to me because it depends a lot on luck. I had 2 iphone 4s. One fell all over the place (tiles, tiles, asphalt) and what's more, I kept it in the car on the right seat and I had a hammer underneath. When I braked, it flew straight into the hammer, but it didn't have anything, it just ate a little of that window on the sides. Instead, I dropped the second one from my hand and I don't know how it fell because it broke both on my face and on my back. So you also need a lot of luck.

  5. I had a 3Gb s32. I dropped it in the toilet. I took it out immediately. I also took out the battery, I dried it on the radiator and it worked perfectly, after a few days I dropped it on the tiles twice nothing was damaged, not even scratched.
