The release date was scheduled for July 1, 2013, so in 3 years, Rovio will finance the entire process of creating the film, and those from Sony will take care of the promotion and distribution of the film worldwide. For now, it is not known what the epic thread of the film will be, but if you have played the games, then you will probably understand where the action will go.
