iOS 7 has implemented the AirDrop function to allow us to share files between iDevices using Wi-Fi Direct connections

AirDrop is a system implemented by Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), in OS X and it allows Mac owners to transfer files between computers using a simple connection Wi-Fi Direct. Basically, the user connects to another Mac, drags & drops a file in a special menu, and that file appears on the HDD of the other Mac. Same thing is tested at the moment in iOS 7, the company allowing employees to transfer files between iDevices using a connection Wi-Fi format between terminals, file transfer can be generated in the future even with Macs or terminals AndroidFor example.

Apple is currently testing versions of iOS 7 internally that include the AirDrop WiFi-direct file sharing tool from the Mac, according to people familiar with the software. Sources say that the AirDrop functionality is currently integrated into the standard iOS share menu. AirDrop will work between two iOS devices and potentially between an iOS device and a Mac. The feature will make it easier than ever to transfer, for example, a photograph or document from one person's iPhone to another person's iPad.

Technology Wi-Fi Direct it allows the transfer of files between terminals without using a Wi-Fi HotSpot, so practically all you have to do is to have the terminals in Wi-Fi range. The technology was also tested last year before the launch iOS 6But Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), decided not to launch it, giving users the possibility to synchronize documents and photos via iCloud. The problem with iCloud is that everything is done using an Internet connection and users cannot share files with terminals that are not logged into their iCloud account, AirDrop solving this problem.

Although at the moment the alpha builds of iOS 7 have included AirDrop Sharing, it is not known if the function will be available in the final version of the operating system.
