Apple is preparing something "completely different" for the Mac Pro

Although many people are waiting for a new model of Mac Pro within WWDC 2013, the Pro line of those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), it seems to be ready for an update that would take place in the second part of this year. Talking to a product manager Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), for Mac Pro, somebody found out that Apple is preparing something "completely different" for its product, the Apple representative claiming that the wait will be worth it. Even if Apple did not provide details, it seems that the new Mac Pro would have extended Thunderbolt connectivity, would have dual-GPU support and would come without FireWire and optical drives.

For what it's worth – a couple of months ago I received a call from Douglas Brooks, Apple's project manager for the new Mac Pro to address my concerns about the new machine. Obviously he didn't tell me anything about the new MP, but asked me what I wanted to see. I told him expandability for extra graphics cards support, and memory expansion were at the top of my list among other things. His reply was simple: "You are going to be really glad that you waited [to buy a new tower]. We are doing something really different here and I think you're going to be very excited when you see what we've been up to. I can't wait to show this off".

That conversation gave me enough confidence to wait for the new machine. I'm looking forward to the announcement. Hopefully the wait will be worth it.

Unfortunately, it is not known in which period of the year Apple is preparing the launch of the new ones Mac Pro-s, but you can think that sometime around October, Apple could present it together with the iPad 5 and possibly the iPad Mini.
