WWDC 2013 – my expectations

As you already know, on Monday Apple will start WWDC 2013 with the help of a keynote in which he will present some highly anticipated news by people from all over the world. In this article I will not go into details about what each operating system might contain, but I will tell you, in general, what I expect to see on Monday evening and I will tell you again that I am waiting for you on iDevice.ro Mondays from 19:30 to discuss everything that is going to be presented by those from Cupertino.

iOS 7

There is no doubt that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), will present iOS 7 during the event that will take place on Monday, the company announcing this since April, Tim Cook reconfirming everything at the end of last month. I expect that iOS 7 to come with a design change, but not major, I expect to see some new and interesting functions and of course I expect the first beta version to be available from that evening. iOS 7 will not be officially launched on June 11, but at least 2 and a half months away, so somewhere in September we will have it available in the final version.

There is a possibility that some functions of iOS 7 will be offered right now, and here I am referring to changes that can be implemented in App Store or maybe iCloud.

OS X 10.9

Another certainty is the presentation OS X 10.9, the new version of the operating system dedicated to Macs. Just like in the case of iOS 7, Apple has confirmed since April that it will present the "evolution" of its operating system and just like in the case of iOS it will not be released immediately. There is a good chance that a beta version of the OS X 10.9 to appear during Monday evening, Apple needing a system testing period to solve the problems that normally appear in any initiative of this kind.

MacBook Air si MacBook Pro Retina Display

I found out over the weekend that un MacBook Pro Retina Display thinner and lighter could make its appearance at WWDC 2013 together with new models of MacBook Air, but this it is not so sure anymore. It is almost certain that we will see new versions of the MacBook Air that will have updated internal components and probably a new Wi-Fi 802.11ac chip, the Pros with Retina Display benefiting from the same kind of upgrade on the hardware side, Apple not being interested in offering more a lot.

The sales codes for these products are already prepared, so Apple just needs to make sure it has the stocks available and put them on sale, most likely a week after the event.

iPhone 5S, iPad 5, iPad Mini 2, iPod Touch 6G

It is as certain as possible that iPhone 5S, iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 si iPod Touch 6G they will not appear at WWDC 2013 and the motivation is very simple: iOS 7 is not ready for release. Apple never releases a new major version of iOS without testing it for several months with developers, so it is impossible to release any of the products mentioned previously. iPhone 5S will be launched in September of this year at the earliest, probably together with a iPod Touch 6G which has updated hardware.

iPad 5 si iPad Mini 2 are to be launched in the first part of Q4 2013, that is, between October and November, but the latest rumors indicate that Apple would be tempted to postpone the launch of iPad Mini 2 for 2014 in order to give iPad 5 time to generate sales.

iWatch si Mac Pro

About iWatch we don't know anything yet about a possible release date, it is speculated that it would reach the market at the end of the year, but nothing is certain. Although it is not excluded that we will see it for the first time at WWDC 2013 iWatch, its presence would be surprising for a lot of people, and this is because the rumors that have appeared so far have not given any indication about the possible start of the manufacturing process of the new Apple product.

Regarding Mac Prothings are simple, the new Apple product will be launched somewhere towards the end of the year.

I think that you should not think about anything other than those presented above when it comes to WWDC 2013, because the Apple event is no longer focused on hardware (iPhones) but on software.
