Downgrade from iOS 7 to iOS 6

  iOS beta 7 1 was released last night, I have already told you how you can install it on your own terminals without having a registered UDID, but can you downgrade them without problems? The answer is yes, you can downgrade from iOS 7 to iOS 6 without problems, but unfortunately you will not reach a version that can be jailbroken, unless you have one iPhone 4. For the rest of the terminals, you must downgrade to iOS 6.1.3 or iOS 6.1.4, depending on the version of iOS that is available for your device. For iPhone 4 you will be able to use redsn0w to restore to any version of iOS, but for now the method is not verified.

  For any other iDevices follow the procedure below and you will return to iOS 6 immediately.

1. Download iOS 6 available here.

2. Insert your iDevice into DFU Mode following the instructions below:

  • hold down the power button for 3 seconds;
  • without letting go of the power button, press the Home button for 10 seconds;
  • after the 10 seconds pass, release the Power button and the phone should already be in DFU Mode and redsn0w will start implementing the exploit.

3. Open iTunes and connect the terminal to the computer.

4. Holding down the Option (Mac) or Shift (Windows) key, click on the Check for Updates button and select the .ipsw file downloaded in step 1.

Let iTunes install the iOS, and in the end everything should work without problems.
