Here's what Macs you can run OS X Mavericks on and how it warns you about applications that consume a lot of energy

OS X Mavericks was presented last night by the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), as a major update for the operating system dedicated to Macs. Apple has greatly improved many aspects of OS X, so Macs should have better performance, but also up to 50% more autonomy, MacBook Air-the one with a 13-inch screen, which will have up to 12 hours of autonomy under normal use conditions. This can be managed with the help of a system that will tell you which applications consume the most energy, the system automatically calculating the resources needed by the applications and showing you warnings in the menu that will tell you what percentage of the battery you still have available.

We leave energy efficiency behind and move on to compatibility with Apple's Macs, here is the list products that can run the new version of the operating system. If you look at the list below, you will notice that there are few models that are not able to run OS X Mavericks, and most of them are more than 4-5 years old, so theoretically you should be able to run the new version of the operating system without problems if you have a Mac bought in 2009, for example.

  • iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
  • MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid / Late 2007 or later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
  • Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
  • Xserve (Early 2009)

OS X Mavericks is now available in beta for OS X application developers, with the official release of the operating system to take place in the fall.

  1. I don't know how much it will cost because I only put it online, BUT! I put the brave maverick from scratch... I delete the entire ssd and start from the beginning with these painters from California, I am amazed that I will pay for an operating system for the first time. Sublime iOS (judging by the presentation).

  2. I'm curious if it's ramophagous like mountain lion... since I changed snow leopard to macbook air it's always on ramul red. this does not mean that the operating system is good. kind of .. yes you can install it but it goes wrong because actually you shouldn't install it
