WhatsApp Messenger, the famous instant messaging application that for over 1 year has occupied the first place in the top of the most purchased applications in App Store Romania, is responsible for sending 27 billion instant messages daily. Those from WhatsApp they published this information on Twitter, stating that we are talking about a new record in terms of the number of messages processed daily. WhatsApp currently has rivals such as iMessage, Facebook Messenger, Viber, etc., but for now, no other service has managed to slow down its growth recorded on all the platforms on which it is available.
Making a comparison with iMessage, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), claims that 800 billion iMessages have been sent by its servers since the launch of the service, in 2011, until now, and the number is small. If WhatsApp had a daily average of 20 billion messages sent, then in one month it would almost equal the number of messages sent via iMessage in almost 2 years, and that says a lot about the popularity of the platform. WhatsApp Messenger is available in the App Store in a version compatible only with iPhone terminals.
