LG presents the thinnest 1080p screen for smartphones, could use the technology for iDevices

During the last night the company LG submitted officially the thinnest screen LCD of 5.2 inches with 1080p resolution. The screen is specially designed for smartphones, it is only 2.2 mm thick and has a bezel of 2.3 mm, currently being the thinnest LCD screen of this size and with this resolution. The LG screen is the first manufactured using the Advanced One-Glass-Solution, OGS technology, it has wide viewing angles thanks to the small bezel, it is lighter and will allow the development of much thinner smartphones in the future.

Apart from the thickness and the OGC technology, those from LG claim that less optical resin was used in the manufacture of the screen, which leads to an improvement in brightness. more precisely, the panel is RGS and has 535 nits of brightness when set to the maximum value, the contrast being 3.74:1, based on 10.000 lux. Practically, LG managed to develop a great screen and considering that it is one of the main partners of Apple, the use of OGS technology in the future screens of iDevices is not excluded.
