Tutorial: Downgrade iOS 7 to iOS 6

  Given that Apple has started a process of blocking iDevices who iOS 7 beta installed without having UDID registered, maybe it would be good to bring to your attention the downgrade procedure from iOS 7 la iOS 6. Although you can easily return to iOS 6, the problem is that the backup made for your iDevice with iOS 7 it cannot be installed after this downgrade, so it would be good to save separately everything that is very important to you, because after the downgrade you might lose what you protect.

  Having said that, following the process below you will be able to downgrade to iOS 6.1.3 or iOS 6.1.4.

1. Download iOS 6 available here.

2. Insert your iDevice into DFU Mode following the instructions below:

  • hold down the power button for 3 seconds;
  • without letting go of the power button, press the Home button for 10 seconds;
  • after the 10 seconds pass, release the Power button and the phone should already be in DFU Mode and redsn0w will start implementing the exploit.

3. Open iTunes and connect the terminal to the computer.

4. Holding down the Option (Mac) or Shift (Windows) key, click on the Restore button and select the .ipsw file downloaded in step 1.

Let iTunes install the iOS, and in the end everything should work without problems.
