iPad Air, iPad Mini Retina Display, MacBook Pro Retina Display, Mac Pro – everything you need to know about the Apple conference on October 22!

During this evening the company Applshe organized a conference in which she presented, to everyone's astonishment, a tablet called iPad Air, a tablet iPad Mini 2 and two new Macs: MacBook Pro Retina Display si Mac Pro. The surprise was great for many people, because Apple managed to keep a secret extremely well inside the company and this turned out to be the name of the tablet iPad Air. Although many thought that it would be called iPad 5, in reality Apple chose the name iPad Air, an unusual one and not presented by anyone.

In the following I will discuss all the important news from Apple, covering both tablets and Macs.

iPad Air

We have been waiting for some time that iPad Air to be presented by the Apple company, and here's how the long-awaited product from Cupertino made its appearance on the conference stage. The new iPad 5 tablet is thinner, lighter and much more powerful than previous models, it has a Retina screen whose edge is 43% smaller than in iPad 4. In terms of dimensions, iPad Air is 20% larger thinner than the previous version, but it is also lighter than iPad 4, weighing only 453 grams. As expected, the new iPad Air tablet works on the basis of an A7 chip (having an M7 motion co-processor), being up to 8 times faster than the first generation on the standard processing side, having graphics processing power with up to 72 times larger than iPad 1.

ableta uses WiFi MIMO technology that allows accessing WiFi networks and reaching speeds of up to 300 Mbps, supports several 4G LTE networks, has a new 5 megapixel iSight camera, records video in 1080p format, has a 1.2 FaceTime HD camera megapixels, has two microphones for recording video clips and the same autonomy of 10 hours. The tablet is available in space gray and silver versions, the gold version not being presented by Apple. The tablet will be available at the same prices as before, its younger sister iPad 2 will continue to be available on the market, iPad 4 will be permanently withdrawn.

iPad Air will be launched in several dozen countries on November 1, Romania being among them.

iPad Mini Retina Display

After iPad Air, the Apple company amazes the world with iPad Mini 2, a tablet about which they have heard countless rumors recently. To begin with, we learn that the iPad Mini 2 will indeed contain a Retina Display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536, the same resolution available in the iPad Air, all applications being compatible with it. The new tablet works on the basis of the same A7 processor (having an M7 motion co-processor), offering up to 4 times higher performance for standard processing and up to 8 times in the case of the graphics card. The iPad Mini 2 also has WiFi MIMO technology, the new 5-megapixel iSight camera mentioned in the case of the iPad Air, and a FaceTime HD camera. The tablet is available in space gray and silver versions.

The new tablet looks exactly like the previous version and is available in space gray and silver colors, the gold model being unavailable, and here we also include Touch ID technology. Basically we are talking about a simple hardware update of the tablet and nothing more from this point of view, so don't expect anything else. iPad Mini 2 will be launched at the end of November at a price of $399, $70 more than the previous version, the latter will remain on the market at $299. Unfortunately, the Apple company does not offer a release date for the new tablet, a sign that stocks are very low and we will not have the product on the market from November 1.

MacBook Pro Retina Display

As expected, during this evening, the Apple company announced the launch of new MacBook Pro Retina Display models. In the case of the model with a 13-inch screen, we are talking about the implementation of the Intel Haswell platform that brings 9 hours of autonomy for the battery (2 hours more than in the past), brings Thunderbolt 2, WiFi 802.ac, PCi-e flash storage and a price $200 less than the previous one.

In the case of the MacBook Pro with a 15-inch screen, we are talking about the implementation of a 5th generation Intel Haswell processor, a GeForce GT 750M video card and an Iris Pro, with up to 8 hours of battery autonomy, PCI-e storage, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Thunderbolt 2 and of course it will be available at a price $200 lower than the previous one. Both models will be available for purchase starting today in Apple stores.

Mac Pro

During this evening the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), presented again the new version of Mac Pro, the company's product having available the Intel Xeon E5 platform with quad-core processors that have 6, 8 and 12 cores, up to 30 MB l3 cache and 40 third-generation PCI Express lines. All of these are available with 3 MHz DDR1866 ECC RAM memory that has a four-channel controller, offering a bandwidth of 60 GB/s, up to 64 GB can be implemented. Separately, Apple has implemented AMD FirePro video cards that have up to 4096 processors for streaming, two 384-bit buses, up to 12 GB of GDDR5 VRAM, 528 GB/s bandwidth and 7 teraflops .

On the connectivity side, we are talking about the implementation of Thunderbolt 2 which offers a bandwidth of 20 Gb/s and offers the possibility to connect up to 6 devices for each port. The new video cards allow the connection of a maximum of 4 4K screens to the new Mac via HDMI 1.4 specially implemented for these screens. The starting price of the new Macs is $3000 and they will be available in Apple stores from December.

iWork and iLife

Expected for a few days, the new versions of the applications from the iWork and iLife suite will be available starting today in App Store si Mac App Store. Application iPhoto it will have a new interface and a new way of organization on iDevices, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), including the possibility of generating cards directly from the application. iMovie also has a completely changed interface, Apple's implementing effects to change the speed of video clips and the option to insert video clips inside others, these functions being available only on Macs until now. All movies made through iMovie are available on all Apple products if they are synchronized with iCloud. The Garageband application will have a new interface, it will allow you to edit 32 music tracks on our iDevices, this function is most likely available on the iPhone 5S and the new tablets from this evening.

Now the applications in the iWork suite are compatible with all types of documents, they have a completely new interface available for OS X and iOS, which allows a much simpler administration of the documents available in them. In the Numbers application, the new interface for iOS allows for a much more beautiful generation and presentation of spreadsheets, being interactive and allowing extremely fast presentations. In the case of Keynote, we are talking about the implementation of new effects and animations for users, most of them being available on Apple's iDevices, but also on Mac. One of the most interesting new functions is called Collaboration and it allows simultaneous and real-time editing of documents from any iDevice or Mac, users being able to modify documents at the same time wherever they are.
