iPad Air – camera test – iDevice.ro (Video)

In the article we inform you that iPad Air arrived at iDevice.ro I have presented you a video clip and some pictures recorded outside using the new tablet from Apple. Well, I also recorded some at home to show you the difference between what the tablet can do in low light conditions and in an environment with sufficient ambient light. As you can already see, if you don't have very strong light in the house, the tablet will record very bad pictures, something that many of you probably knew.

In iPad Air Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), implemented a 5 megapixel iSight camera which, unlike the cameras available in the iPad 3/4/Mini, has a slightly better focal distance and nothing more. Using the exact sensor with the same aperture, those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), does not give us the opportunity to take great pictures, the differences between those recorded with iPad Air si iPad 3 being minimal. On the video side, we have no surprises or news, the tablet still records video in 1080p format at 30 fps, but the slow motion function of the iPhone 5S is not available.

The front camera of the iPad Air is almost identical to the one available in the iPad 4, still having 1.2 megapixels, recording video clips at 1280 x 960 pixels, but with a somewhat smaller focal length. Of course, even here you will not notice any differences in terms of recording photos or making video calls, the ambient light always making the difference between good and very bad images. From my point of view, tablets only need a front camera for video calls and nothing more, and I make this statement because without an LED flash, the main camera in the iPad is only good for taking pictures outdoors.

Having said that, I don't know who expected to see important news for the iPad Air camera, but they will certainly be quite disappointed.
