For the iPhone 5S, Apple would have designed silicone cases similar to those available for the iPhone 5C

For terminals iPhone 5C, company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), designed and launched a series of rubber casings called "crocs" by the general public for their resemblance to well-known pairs of shoes made of rubber. Although these cases were only released for iPhone 5C, Apple would have designed some prototypes to test including with iPhone 5S, and in the image above we present one of them. Although no one can confirm that this is really an Apple prototype, we can still see how a case of this kind would look applied over a terminal iPhone 5S, although in the images we have an iPhone 5.

There are, however, two crucial differences between the iPhone 5C version of the case that was meant for the iPhone 5/5S and the actual, official iPhone 5C case that was released to the public:

  • Instead of the seven-by-five grid of holes that is on the back of the released iPhone 5C case, the case for the iPhone 5/5S sports a subtly different six-by-five grid of holes.
  • Unlike on the iPhone 5C case, the top and bottom of the iPhone 5/5S is not protected by the silicon case.

The interesting part of this prototype is that it has several holes applied, and the upper/lower parts are not protected by silicone as in the case iPhone 5C. Even if Apple will never release cases of this type for iPhone 5S, I don't think it will take long until we see the first products manufactured by the Chinese.

  1. So, and except for the color of the case, what would be the difference if you put it from an iPhone 5 to an iPhone 5S, considering that they physically have the same dimensions? But you are right, for you I will complete the article so that it is extraordinarily clear.

  2. It's about your wording: "...iPhone 5S, and in the image above we have presented one of them...". You could have said: "in the image below we have presented a prototype, placed on an iPhone 5".

You don't know who is reading this, he goes to buy a 5S and because he sees here in the picture a 5S with a single flash and a home button with a square on it, he buys a 5 and is swindled by the one who took his money and by you that you provide false information.

If you're going to write something, write it slanderously.

  3. @razvanrazy: Whoever goes and buys an iPhone 5 instead of an iPhone 5S based only on a picture deserves his fate, to be honest. You are exaggerating and taking things to the crazy extreme, I have included a special explanation for you in the article, I hope you will be satisfied and understand it and stop trolling.

  4. I don't think the case is made of silicone, because it can't be fixed on the phone case! It could be something plastic!

  5. Zaone, I have an iPhone 5 and I would like an original case from Apple but I can't find it anywhere... do you have any idea where I could find it?
