Apple is criticized for the absence of women in its management structures

Although in the last months Tim Cook lobbied for the modification of the US labor legislation, arguing that discrimination of any type must disappear from American companies, here Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), she is criticized for exactly that. According to those from Bloomberg, the main shareholders of Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), they criticized the company for the absence of women from its management structures, intending to bring the issue up for discussion at the general meeting of shareholders to be held next month. The idea was abandoned after discussions with Apple representatives, a change being made in the company's articles of incorporation.

Apple is now adding the following language to the charter of the board's nominating and governance committee: "The nominating committee is committed to actively seeking out highly qualified women and individuals from minority groups to include in the pool from which board nominees are chosen." While the statement was included in the company's proxy for the past several years, it had not been part of the company's charter, a governing document. Apple also vowed to continue discussions with shareholders about ways to improve diversity, Ruoff said.

Based on this change, the Apple company states in its constitutive act that its management structures can include men or women representatives of any type of minorities. Although Andrea Jung, the former CEO of Avon, is part of Apple's board of directors and soon the current CEO of Burberry will join the team of senior vice presidents, those at Apple will have to hire more women and not only that. The shareholders are upset that in the board of directors, and in general in the management structures, the main positions are held, in an overwhelming majority, by "white men", so in the not too distant future we will see representatives of several minorities in the team management of Apple.
