A group of hackers claims to have compromised Dropbox's servers, the company denies the claims

During the last night the services dropbox were unavailable for a period of time, the company developing the services stating that the problem appeared during a maintenance procedure and that it is to be solved. Shortly after the publication of the announcement, a group of hackers said that he managed to compromise the company's database, managing to take information about users, including publishing a list of usernames/emails that would have belonged to some Dropbox users.

We are aware of an issue currently affecting the Dropbox site. We have identified the cause, which was the result of an issue that arose during routine internal maintenance, and are working to fix this as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience. UPDATE: Dropbox site is back up! Claims of leaked user information are a hoax. The outage was caused during internal maintenance. Thanks for your patience!

Despite these claims, the hackers they admitted then that everything was fake, they used a DDoS attack against the Dropbox servers, apparently affecting the functionality of the services. Fortunately, this time the Dropbox information did not fall into the hands of a group of hackers, but in the future anything is possible, especially since much more important services have been compromised following repeated attacks.
