iDevice.ro mini review: Logitech FabricSkin Folio for iPad

About two weeks ago, I told you that through those from Logitech I have the opportunity to test Logitech FabricSkin Folio for iPad Air, a keyboard case specially designed for the iPad tablet. In the images of this article you can see the product that I had the opportunity to use to write a good part of the articles published on this blog, it proving to be an extremely useful tool in replacing a laptop, especially when you are on roads and you cannot use a product larger than an iPad tablet.

As you can already see from the images, we are talking about a very elegant case covered with a shiny and fine black material on the outside, the inside being lined with a white, velvety material that protects the tablet from any kind of scratches. The design attracted me from the very beginning and few manufacturers know how to make covers of this kind that are really attractive, but although the use of white color for the internal structure generates the impression of a premium product, over time the keyboard will get dirty if you use it when your hands are dirty.

Well, moving from design to functionality, you can see from the images that we are talking about an almost complete keyboard, with buttons that will cover absolutely all your needs while using iOS applications and not only that. Those from Logitech were smart enough to allow key combinations to be used to replicate the functionality of the Home button, to access the task switcher, to copy and paste text, to quickly move the cursor, to take screenshots and more , the lower + upper key combinations offering you this functionality. Moreover, the pleasure of using the tablet also comes thanks to the fact that pressing the keys is so easy, that you have the impression that you are using an Apple keyboard, or any type of premium keyboard.

Practically, the Logitech FabricSkin Folio for iPad can easily replace the virtual keyboard of iOS and that of a computer, and if we could also connect a mouse to the tablet without exploiting iOS, then a computer would have been very quickly given forgetting. The idea of having a keyboard that allows you to control iOS without using the screen, most of the time, increases productivity and simplifies the work of writing or interacting with applications, and for this reason I was extremely delighted by Logitech FabricSkin Folio. With a thickness of only 18.5mm and a weight of 425 grams, the cover substantially increases the thickness of an iPad Air tablet and practically doubles its weight, but we are talking about a series of compromises that you will make without regretting them in any way, because combining an iPad tablet with this case you will not get the same weight/thickness as a normal laptop.

Combining functionality with cover design Logitech FabricSkin Folio it is an extremely useful accessory for those who travel a lot and need something to make their work easier to work with the iOS virtual keyboard, so I can only recommend it to you with the greatest warmth. You can find the iPad 2/3/4 version of the Logitech FabricSkin Folio cover on this page, version for iPad Air to be launched in the next period by those from Logitech.
