iPhone 6 and iOS 8 will allow making 4G voice calls via VoLTE

Yesterday I told you about the support for 4G voice calls, Voltain 4G networks of our operators and today I have very good news, iPhone 6 si iOS 8 going to provide support for them. US mobile operators AT&T and Verizon will offer support for 4G calls starting this year again Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), will implement the technology VoLTE in iPhone 6 and iOS 8. Practically iPhone 6 and iOS 8 will make 4G calls via VoLTE thanks to new hardware and software changes, but this functionality will only be available in networks that support the technology.

Although iPhone 6 will make 4G calls abroad, in Romania, it will take some time for the operators to implement support for this technology and I think that until 2015 it is hard to believe that we will be able to use it. In the meantime, we will have to endure the same transition from the 4G to the 3G network when making phone calls in Romania, so although the news of VoLTE implementation is extremely good, unfortunately it will not help us that much.
