Apple started the implementation of 64-bit processors in mobile terminals

TSMC, one of the largest manufacturers of chips for mobile terminals, considers that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), motivated smartphone and tablet manufacturers to switch to 64-bit processors for their own products. According the co-CEO TSMC, Mark Liu, release iPhone 5S with 64-bit processor motivated smartphone and tablet manufacturers to adopt this technology in their own devices. After Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),Those from Qualcomm si MediaTek they started producing 64-bit processors for mobile terminals, the smartphones and tablets launched in 2014 that will contain this technology.

If you observe the mobile device industry, in the past six months we do see the...conversion to 64-bit [in processors] after the Apple [64-bit A7 processor] announcement.

Starting the implementation of 64-bit technology in mobile terminals, Apple is going to improve the chips in iDevices by launching the future A8 chip. For the manufacture of this component, those from TSMC would have been contracted by the Apple company, they are going to start the manufacturing process of the new chip in the following months, the iPhone 6 being thought to work on the basis of an A8 chip with superior performances to those offered in the form of A7.
