Apple blocks Heartbleed vulnerability in AirPort Extreme and AirPort Time Capsule

I have already told you about the Heartbleed vulnerability which affects a multitude of websites on the Internet, but not the company's online services Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),. Although its online services are not affected by the problem, the same cannot be said about AirPort Extreme or AirPort Time Capsule, these being vulnerable. To solve the problem, those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), launched an update for the software on which they work, so that now users will be protected against the vulnerability heartbleed.

The firmware update provides a fix for the recent OpenSSL vulnerability for the latest generation of 802.11ac enabled AirPort Extreme and AirPort Time Capsule base stations (June 2013). This vulnerability only impacts recent Airport devices that have the Back to My Mac feature enabled. Customers with previous generation AirPort Extreme and AirPort Time Capsules do not need to update their base stations.

The update can be installed through the application that allows the administration of both types of products.
