During the day yesterday I talked to you about a rumor published by a well-known Romanian journalist, he suggesting the idea that Vodafone Romania would follow acquires the cable TV and fixed telephony + furniture divisions of RCS-RDS. In an attempt to put an end to the speculations on this topic, those from RCS-RDS today they sent a short press release in which they announce that the information that appeared yesterday on the Internet has no real basis, Vodafone apparently having no intention of purchasing anything from RCS-RDS.
The information posted by the journalist Robert Turcescu on his Facebook account regarding an alleged sale of the cable, telephone and internet distribution operations of the RCS & RDS company are completely false, having no real basis. It is regrettable that a journalist with the experience of Robert Turcescu so easily and irresponsibly spreads rumors that can cause significant material and image damage to us, without verifying this so-called information and without even asking for a point of view from the company RCS & RDS.
Despite this statement, considering that there are speculations regarding a possible acquisition, probably at some level discussions regarding such a move would have been held, or maybe they are still being held. Until then, we stay with what those from RCS-RDS, Vodafone avoiding to comment in any way on the situation for the time being.
