The market share of iPhones registered a decrease in Q2 2014

In Q2 2014 the company Apple sold 35.1 million smartphones, 3.9 million more than in the same period last year, registering a 12.4% increase in sales. Unfortunately, the increase in sales recorded by Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), was lower than the market average, and this it generated a decrease in its market share in the global smartphone market, and in the image above you can see everything.

Despite a challenging quarter for Samsung, and to a lesser extent Apple, the strong market demand boosted results for most smartphone vendors. Emerging markets supported by local vendors are continuing to act as the main catalyst for smartphone growth. Among the top vendors in the market, a wide range of Chinese OEMs more than outpaced the market in 2Q14. By far the most impressive was Huawei, nearly doubling its shipments from a year ago, followed by another strong performance from Lenovo.

As you can see, Apple's market share fell by 1.1% in one year, despite the increase in sales, the decrease being much lower than the 6.9% recorded by Samsung. The sales of the Samsung decreased by 3 million units compared to the same period last year, being the only major manufacturer that sold fewer smartphones, Huawei, Lenovo si LG registering healthy growth.

We are practically witnessing a fall of the Samsung company in a quarter in which it also launched Samsung Galaxy S5, but also to an increase in cheap smartphone manufacturers, Apple needing iPhones at much more competitive prices.
