iOS 8 – one of the useful functions is only partially active

iOS 8 Mac address - IDevice.ro

A few weeks ago I told you that in iOS 8 implemented a function that allows us to keep our anonymity during the scan Wi-Fi HotSpotof those around us. The function display random MAC addresses for iDevices that have iOS 8 installed, so that the people who monitor Wi-Fi traffic and log all the terminals that connect to them will never know that we have used their HotSpot before, and advertisers will not be able to show us the same ads.

Although the function was very interesting, unfortunately It seems that it only works if you have the data connection and GPSactivated, otherwise our identity is not anonymous. The problem is even bigger because even if you have the data connection blocked and the GPS turned off, the MAC address will be changed randomly only if our terminals are in sleep mode, so the whole function thought by Apple is only useful in theory , because in practice it has no value or any use.
