Apple explains the discontinuation of the iPod Classic

launching iPhone 6 and 6 iPhone Plus has led Apple to stop selling the iPod Classic in its own stores, and now CEO Tim Cook is also providing details for this decision that surprised a good part of iPod fans and not only. According to Tim Cook, the unavailability of certain parts needed to manufacture the product, as well as the high costs needed to design a new model, motivated the company to abandon its commercialization and further development

The iPod Classic disappeared from the Apple website without any mention from the American company, and if we take into account the fact that sales of iPods are in a continuous decline, the decision is as logical as possible. Apple sold only 2.6 million iPods in the last 3 months of this year, the figure being much lower than the one recorded in the same period last year, but also three months ago, a sign that customer interest is a-vis these products no longer motivates the company to bring new models to the market.
