Downgrade iOS 8.1.1 to iOS 8.1

iOS 8.1.1 iDevice.ro  iOS 8.1.1 it was launched just a few days ago by the Apple company and if you are wondering now if downgrading to iOS 8.1 is possible, well the answer is yes, but only for a limited period of time. The Apple company continues to sign SHSHs for the old version of the operating system, allowing users to restore to continue benefiting from the jailbreak for terminals. The procedure is temporary, so if you want to do it, it is better to hurry because it is not known how long it will be available.

  Before starting this procedure, it is advisable to make a backup for the data from the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, and for this procedure you can use:

  • iCloud by accessing Settings>iCloud>Backup or Configurations>iCloud>Backup (Save data);
  • iTunes by opening the program, connecting your terminal to the computer, selecting it using the icon on the top left, making a left click in the device bar and selecting the Back up now option.

Downgrade iOS 8.1.1 to iOS 8.1

1. Download iOS 8.1 available here.

2. Open iTunes and connect your terminal to the computer. You must have the latest version of iTunes from apple.com/itunes.

3. Holding down the shift key in Windows or Option in Mac, press the Restore button and choose the firmware downloaded for your terminal in step 1, then the procedure will begin. If you receive an error like This firmware is not compatible..., then it is necessary to enter the terminal in DFU Mode (if you are sure that you have downloaded the right version for your device) following the steps below, the error being generally displayed for iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus where there is only one type of firmware:

  • press the Power/Lock button and hold it for 3 seconds
  • without letting go, press the Home button and keep them pressed for another 10 seconds, then release the Power/Lock button;
  • keep pressing the Home button until iTunes recognizes your terminal, although the screen is black;

4. After entering DFU Mode, repeat the first part of the previous step to load the firmware in iTunes.

  After completing the procedure you will be able to activate the terminal and jailbreak using iOS 8 – iOS 8.1 jailbreak tutorial. If you have other questions, I'm waiting for them in the comments.
