Last weekend I had the opportunity to test the Telekom.ro 4G internet in Bucharest to see what kind of internet browsing experience the mobile phone operator offers to customers who contract its services, and from this article you will find out how well it does the network in everyday use.
Telekom Romania officially sells subscriptions and 4G internet options that offer the possibility to surf the web at theoretical speeds of up to 150 Mbps in multiple cities and areas of the country, and practically the speeds obtained are not far from the promises. Testing the Telekom 4G Internet in Bucharest, I managed to obtain a personal speed record for the capital, i.e. 134 Mbps, almost 20 Mbps more than the previous record obtained by testing the competitor's Internet.
Telekom.ro 4G Internet - speed test from Bucharest
Of course, you will only get peaks of this kind in certain areas and in general the speeds obtained while using the Telekom 4G Internet will be halved, and the images in this article show the situation in Bucharest as well as possible. During three days, I did a multitude of tests in multiple areas of the capital to have the best possible representation of the quality of the service offered by the operator and I can say that, in certain cases, we are talking about speeds even better than of competitors.
In general, you will get Internet browsing speeds of between 40 Mbps and 60 Mbps in most areas, with response times between 30 milliseconds and 40 milliseconds, and in these conditions you will have the best possible Internet browsing experience What's more, with an upload speed of up to 30 Mbps, you will be able to upload photos and videos extremely quickly on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, and if you also benefit from free access to Instagram, then things are even better .
All the tests in the images were done using the iPhone 6 Plus terminal, which has the ability to reach maximum speeds of 150 Mbps, so it was not limited in any way. At the moment Telekom 4G internet is accessible in: Bucharest, Bacău, Baia Mare, Boldești-Scăieni, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Bragadiru, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Dej, Focșani, Galati, Huși, Iași, Jilava, Medgidia, Năvodari, Otopeni, Piatra Neamț, Ploiesti, Râmnicu Sărat, Roman, Satu Mare, Suceava, Tecuci, Timișoara, Voluntari and Valea Prahovei (the Sinaia, Buşteni and Predeal tourist resorts).
Having said that, Telekom Romania managed to build a very good 4G infrastructure in Bucharest, with good Internet browsing speeds being obtained even inside the buildings.
