Find My iPhone becomes almost useless in Romania

Find My iPhone Romania

Last night I told you that Apple made a radical decision regarding the Google Maps system developed by Google, now no longer available for use in the iCloud web application for Find My iPhone. Apple Maps has replaced Google Maps for locating iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches protected by Find My iPhone, so if you try to discover the GPS location of a terminal, you might get an extremely unpleasant surprise.

Although Apple Maps is to a certain extent useful in the USA, Great Britain or other important countries for Apple, in Romania we cannot say the same about the American service. Unfortunately, even in Bucharest, the city with the most detailed map, we do not have a mapping at least half as good and accurate as that of Google Maps, so the whole system is far from being useful for our country. regarding the location.

I would like to say that Apple Maps will be helpful in the future for locating iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches, but there is a very high chance that the system will direct you to a non-existent location, not detect your GPS position correctly or do not find different streets. If we also take into account that we don't even have points of interest in Apple Maps, then you can understand why the product from Apple is not nearly ready enough to become the central point of Find My iPhone.

The only good things left at Find My iPhone are the Lost Mode and Activation Lock, the first allowing the complete deletion of a terminal and its blocking in case of theft, the second preventing activation in the same situation. Apart from them, I don't see any reason for a person to give up battery life to use Find My iPhone in everyday life and this is unfortunate.

Unfortunately, this year the Apple company managed to destroy many of its products, from iOS to Find My iPhone, and if it continues like this, it won't be long before it starts losing its customers.
