Here is the complex procedure by which Touch ID can be fooled (Video)

Yesterday I told you that a team of Germans discovered a method by which fingerprint readers can be fooled with cloned fingerprints. Everything is based on the lack of physical contact with the owners of the protected products and a cloning of fingerprints based on pictures of fingers already available on the Internet.

Although in theory everything seems simple to achieve, two Americans made a video clip in which they demonstrate the complex procedure behind such an effort. Above you can see in 18 minutes what a hacker has to do to be able to trick the system touch ID of the iPhone 5S, or any other material, and a cloned fingerprint.

The procedure itself involves the possession of devices and materials that not every person has at their disposal at any time. Moreover, many of them are not that cheap, so most of them would not have access to them under normal conditions, so they would not be able to reproduce everything in the conditions in which you see them above.

Disadvantages aside, experienced hackers or any trained individuals can fool fingerprint readers with this method. If you are not an extremely important person with crucial data for humanity, it is unlikely that your terminal will be the target of such an attack.
