WhatsApp Messenger will not make video or voice calls over Skype

WhatsApp Messenger - iDevice.ro
WhatsApp Messenger is the most popular text messaging application in the world and this morning I told you that it has 700 million monthly active users. This information comes a day after the source code of the application was discovered two great new features that WhatsApp would be testing at the moment.

I'm talking about a voice and probably video call system that would allow us to use the network Skype or Whatsapp to use them, but also about a system called Driving Mode. This Driving Mode would allow reading the messages received in the application when we are behind the wheel, all with the idea of preventing attention from the road to the terminals.

Although the functions are great and would certainly have been appreciated by many people, unfortunately WhatsApp has announced that at least one of them will not be available. I am of course talking about the implementation of the option to make voice or video calls through the Skype network, owned by the Microsoft company.

WhatsApp Messenger will not make video or voice calls over Skype

Facebook si Microsoft they are competing companies and since WhatsApp Messenger will allow you to make voice calls over the Internet, it was logical that Skype had nothing to do here. Despite this, it would have been nice to be able to make video calls using Skype's network, but this will not be available either.

It is quite logical that Facebook does not want to make the network popular Skype or Whatsapp by implementing compatibility with it directly in WhatsApp Messenger. With a user base of 700 million people, WhatsApp Messenger could generate a colossal increase in the use of Skype, and this in the conditions that we are talking about a competing platform, and Facebook does not want to help it grow.

In this idea, we will probably see a Driving Mode in WhatsApp Messenger in the future, but not more than that.
