iOS 8.3 allows disabling 3G with a dedicated button!

iOS 8.3 disable 3G

iOS 8.3 is available starting this evening for owners of iPhone, iPad si iPod Touch-s, and one of the important novelties brought for users is the option to disable 3G connections. For more than 2 years the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), banned users from disabling 3G connections by removing the dedicated button, but now the feature is available. As you can see in the image above, in the Settings application a iOS beta 8.3 1 we have a sub-menu available Voice & Data which allows us to disable 3G connections and activate 2G connections as needed.

iOS 8.3 allows disabling 3G

This option is normally available for mobile phone operators that are not certified by Apple and do not officially sell iPhones, but now I have it available on Orange Romania. Although the option of disabling 3G in iOS 8.3 is available now, I don't know yet if it will remain there until the official release of this version of the operating system. The logic in removing the 3G disable button is based on forcing users to use high-speed data networks to spend money on data subscriptions or additional traffic.

In this idea, I find it hard to believe that Apple will change its strategy and allow us permanently starting with iOS 8.3 to disable 3G connections, but it remains to be seen what will happen when this version of the operating system is available.
